We create leadership development opportunities that train student to facilitate trips and challenge course experiences. Weekend courses are occasionally offered as well as semester long classes. The follow-up to these courses reflects an apprenticeship model, allowing students to gain practical experience within their specific interest. Students have found the interpersonal and group facilitation skills they learn through these experience have been invaluable within their ongoing studies and post graduation careers.
Geneva College offers several "for-credit" classes in the experiential education field. Each class is concentrated on a specific area within adventure education. These classes may be taken as electives for many fields of study or could fulfill certain PE or ministry requirements.
MIN 253: Challenge Course Facilitation & MinistryDevelop an ability to assess a group's need, to design challenge course experiences, and to facilitate both low and high challenge course activities.
